This article contains the JC100UK Series Ninja® Cold Press Juicer FAQs. This supports the following SKUs: JC100UK and JC050UK. Please note this also supports the refurbished models JC100UKREF and JC100UKREFB.
This type of juicer is known by a few different names: Masticating juicer Slow juicer Horizontal juicer Cold Press juicer This is not a centrifugal juicer. Centrifugal juicers tend to work at high speeds and use spinning blades that work against a filter to separate juicer from the fruit. Due to the speed they can be noisier. The Ninja Cold Press Juicer is a slow juicer (also known as a masticating juicer) and it works more slowly and quietly to produce a clearer, cool and brighter juice without foam and separation.
Cut ingredients in 2 -inch pieces so they fit in the feed chute. Add to the feed chute and they will dropped into a chamber with the auger. The auger slowly turns to squeeze out juice from the pulp. Juice drips into a jug below and any remaining pulp will be collected. This process happens more slowly than other juicers to keep the juice cool and for a brighter, less foamy appearance. Using one of 3 filters you can choose the level of pulp you'd like.
If the feed chute chamber becomes blocked or ingredients are not processing, press and hold REVERSE. There will be a beep and a brief pause, then the auger will rotate in the opposite direction. Release REVERSE to stop. Repeat as needed. Press START/STOP to resume normal operation.
All parts, except the motor base, are dishwasher safe. If hand-washing, wash all removable parts in warm soapy water immediately after each use. Use the included cleaning brush to clean hard-to-reach places, and remove excess residue. Use the end of the cleaning brush to clear any buildup left over after juicing from the pulp spout and filter mesh. Use the bristle side of the cleaning brush to clean the auger and body of the filter. To clean the motor base, unplug and wipe with a clean, damp cloth. NOTE: DO NOT add water to the feed chute while the unit is operating to clean the unit.
Ensure that you press and HOLD the REVERSE button. While pressing and holding REVERSE, there will be a beep and a brief pause (3-5 secs), then the auger will rotate in the opposite direction. Release REVERSE to stop. Repeat as needed. Press START/STOP to resume normal operation.
The unit was overloaded with ingredients. Wait 2 minutes, then press START/STOP to resume juicing.
For best results, cut ingreidents in 2-inch pieces. Always use the freshest and ripest fruits and vegetables and wash them prior to juicing. When juicing fruits with large pits or seeds, be sure to remove the pit prior to juicing. For example when using cherries and plums, the seeds and pits need to be taken out and cannot be processed. See the Juicing 101 Chart in the IG or QSG for other helpful prep tips.
No, do not use frozen fruit, frozen vegetables, or ice with this unit.
All parts are dishwasher safe, EXCEPT the motor base.
Ensure the anti-drip lever is open before juicing. Close after juicing to prevent dripping on the unit/counter. You can expect 1 lb. of produce to yield approximately 8 oz. of juice. Yield may vary depending on produce and seasonality. NOTE: You may not see juice dripping with certain produce when only juicing a small quantity. Continue juicing following the juicing 101 guide and ensure drip lever is open.
Ensure auger and filter are installed correctly to allow the pulp spout to fit into place. Attach the inner pulp spout to the feed chute chamber by installing at an angle, on top of the filter, then turn counterclockwise to lock in place. Ensure the word Ninja is facing up. Then attach the outer pulp spout by installing at an angle, on top of the inner pulp spout, and turning counterclockwise to lock in place. Follow the arrows printed on the part to ensure correct assembly.
Please see the Tips & Tricks for Using Filters document in the Manuals tab for additional information.
Unlike centrifugal juicers, this juicer has a low wattage and is designed to juice slowly and more quietly. Its slow speed also means minimal heat transfer for a better juice. The juice will have less foam and separation and will be clearer and more vibrant. Although the process may take a little longer, the juice is worth the wait.
Black Filter (Low Pulp) - Use the black filter with the finest mesh for juice with minimal pulp (fewer bits).
Grey Filter (Medium Pulp) - Use the grey filter with the larger mesh for juice with some pulp (more bits).
Orange Filter (High Pulp) - use the orange filter with the largest mesh for juice with lots of pulp (lots of bits).
For best results, we recommend using the Grey (Medium Pulp) or Orange (High Pulp) filter when processing soft fibrous fruits like berries, seeded melons and pineapple.
With the Ninja Juicer, you can extract up to 75% of the fruit (Tested on oranges, grapes and melon. Yield subject to variety, season and ripeness.) Extract approximately 300ml of juice from 2 large oranges.
