Tips for using your cookware on an induction hob.
With an induction hob (unlike electric or ceramic) only the outer edge of the hob detects the pot or pan by means of electromagnetics. For pots and pans with induction technology to be recognised on the hob, the bottom of the pot or pan must come into connect with the outer edge of the hob ring. In the exceptional case that your pan is not recognised by your hob, try the following:
  1. Place cookware on an appropriately sized hob ring. Induction technology only works effectively if the base of the cookware matches the size of the ring on the hob. If a ring is used that is larger than the cookware, the cookware may not be recognised and so will not heat up.
  2. Place cookware on a small ring. If you do not have a ring that matches the base of your cookware then select a smaller ring.
  3. Do not place the cookware exactly in the centre of the ring. If you do not have a ring that is smaller than the base of your cookware, then position the cookware towards the outer edge and not directly in the centre of the ring. This will allow contact between the outermost points of the base and induction coil.
  4. Refer to your instruction manual for your induction hob. Check which diameter of pan is suitable for which ring.
Are Ninja Foodi Zerostick pans really Zerostick?
When properly preheated, Zerostick Technology enables excellent food release without sticking. Our cookware is made with thicker gauge aluminum so it may take longer to preheat than you are used to. The result is a forgiving pan that cooks consistently time and time again.
Is the nonstick coating safe?
Yes, our exclusive Ninja Zerostick coating is PFOA free and is FDA approved.
What type of non-stick coating is used on the pans?
Zerostick cookware is PFOA and Cadmium free.
What types of utensils can I use in my pans?
Metal utensils including spatulas, spoons, whisks and tongs are safe for use with your Ninja Foodi Zerostick cookware. Never use sharp instruments such as knives or forks or appliances such as electric mixers to cut, chop or whip foods in any non-stick pan. Such use will damage the non-stick finish and void the guarantee.
What temperature should I use when cooking?
  • Use high heat for boiling liquids and searing. Never leave an empty pan on high for more than 2 or 3 minutes as this can damage the pan and lead to sticking.
  • Use medium-high heat for sautéing, frying and stir-frying.
  • Use medium heat for reducing liquids and making pancakes, sandwiches and omelettes.
  • Use low heat to warm foods, simmer ingredients or prepare delicate sauces.
Should I pre-heat my cookware and when do I know that it's ready for cooking?

Never preheat pans on high heat to speed up preheating. Excessive heat applied to an empty pan can damage the non-stick surface.

Preheat the pan for 1 to 2 minutes using the heat setting you intend to use when cooking. To determine if the pan is hot enough for cooking, simply add a few drops of water. If you hear a sizzle, the pan is ready for use. DO NOT rush the preheating process by using high heat. We recommend using lower temperatures when you first begin using your cookware to avoid overcooking and burning until you become familiar with how your pan cooks.

What is the best way to store my pans?

Hang pans on a rack or store flat in a single layer in a cupboard. If stacking or nesting cookware, gently nest the smaller pans in the larger ones. Using a paper towel or soft cloth in between pans can help protect the cooking surfaces when stacking.

Can I use cooking spray in my pans?

Never use cooking sprays. These burn at low temperatures and will leave a residue that leads to sticking.

What type of cooking surface will my pan work on?

Your Ninja Foodi Zerostick cookware is safe for use on gas, electic, electric coil, haogen, indcution and ceramic hobs.

Is it safe to use my pan under a grill?

Ninja cookware and lids are oven and grill safe to 260°C.
If using cookware in an oven at temperatures between 200°C and 260°C, do not leave lids in oven for longer than 30 minutes.
Allow lids to cool before immersing in water.

Is it safe to use my pan in the oven?

Yes, all Ninja Foodi Zerostick Cookware and lids are oven safe up to 260°C. Easily go from hob to oven to finish cooking meats, brown toppings or bake like you can in cast iron.

How do I know the size of my frying pan?

The diameter of the top of the rim is the size fry pan you have.

Why is the Zerostick coating textured?

Heated at 17,000°C, plasma ceramic particles are fused to the surface of the pan, creating a robust textured surface that interlocks with our exclusive coating for a superior bond.

Why do I sometimes hear a popping noise when cooking?

There are 2 reasons you could hear a noise while using your cookware on the hob. The first is if the dot induction plate was not dried thoroughly and water gets between the stainless steel induction plate and the pan—this can cause a popping noise until the moisture evaporates.

This is normal and will not effect cooking performance. The second reason could be the lid of the cookware. Moisture can get trapped between the glass and the stainless steel rim around the glass and cause a popping/crackling/hissing sound. Or as the lid heats up and the glass and stainless steel start to expand slightly, rubbing can occur from the thermal expansion and create a noise.

Do the handles get hot?

Shorter handles, high cooking temperatures and longer cooking times may cause handles to get hot. Exercise caution when cooking on the hob and always use a potholder or oven gloves to prevent burns when removing from the oven.

How long is the guarantee? What does the guarantee cover?

How can I clean my stainless steel handles or induction base?

If you notice grease or discoloring on the stainless steel handles or stainless steel induction base, clean thoroughly with baking soda and white vinegar, then wipe with a sponge or soft cloth.

How do I clean my pans?

Pans can be hand-washed or cleaned in the dishwasher once cooled. Never immerse a hot pan in cold water, as this may lead to irreparable warping.

CLEANING & CARE
Remove all packaging and wash cookware before first use. Allow cookware to cool completely before washing. Never immerse a hot pan in cold water, as this may lead to irreparable warping. Always clean cookware thoroughly after use, as grease build-up over time can lead to food sticking.
If you notice grease or discolouring on the stainless steel handles or stainless steel induction base, clean thoroughly with bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar and then wipe with a sponge or soft cloth.

DISHWASHER
Use automatic dishwashing detergent without bleach or citrus additives. Prolonged, regular dishwashing may eventually mark or discolour your cookware. If regularly washed in the dishwasher, some darkening of the exterior of the base may occur—this is normal and will not affect cooking performance.

HAND-WASHING
Use mild washing-up liquid. Abrasive pads and sponges should only be used if they are approved for use on non-stick cookware. DO NOT use harsh cleaners or abrasive pads for non-stick cookware as they can damage cookware.

How can I safely remove sticky and/or burnt on debris from my pan?

Wait until your pan cools and soak it in warm water, use a non-abbrasive sponge or towel to remove any debris.

Why does food sometimes stick to my pans?

Overheating your pans can lead to food burning and sticking or if you used an abrasive cleaning tool that could damage the cooking surface, it can cause food to stick.

Why are the outsides of my pans discolored?

If cooking on a gas range, do not allow the flame to rise along the outside of the pan, as this may lead to discoloration.
